Voyages of Discovery
Voyages of Discovery operates in the UK, US and Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. The Voyages of Discovery business also operates a limited number of school and adult cruises scheduled on an annual basis to coincide with either the October half term or Easter school holiday period in the UK.
Discovery weighs 20,200 tons (gross) and has 356 cabins containing 708 lower berths. It offers cruises throughout the year to customers in the UK, North America, Australasia and South Africa. Cruises from the UK ports are to destinations including Scandinavia, the Baltic and Greenland and fly-cruises are to the Mediterranean, the Black Sea, North Africa, South America, Antarctica, the Pacific Islands the Caribbean and the Amazon.
Sales are generated through a number of sources. Cruises sold in the UK are generally sold directly to the public or on the Group's behalf by certain specific travel agents with an expertise in the cruise market. The direct sales to the public are either to repeat customers of the group or generated through advertising and reader offers. In the US and Canada cruises are sold via the Group's Fort Lauderdale sales office and across the rest of the world the Group has arrangements with general sales agents in South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand.
